What is constipation?http://www.CaptainColon.com Constipation means different things to different people. For many people, it simply means infrequent stools. For others, however, constipation means hard stools, difficulty passing stools (straining), or a sense of incomplete emptying after a bowel movement. The cause of each of these "types" of constipation probably is different, and the approach to each should be tailored to the specific type of constipation. Constipation can also alternate with diarrhea. This pattern is more commonly considered as part of the irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). At the extreme end of the constipation spectrum is fecal impaction, a condition in which stool hardens in the rectum and prevents the passage of any stool. The number of bowel movements generally decreases with age. Ninety-five percent of adults have bowel movements between three and 21 times per week, and this would be considered normal. The most common pattern is one bowel movement a day, but this pattern is seen in less than 50% of people. Moreover, most people are irregular and do not have bowel movements every day or the same number of bowel movements each day. Medically speaking, constipation usually is defined as fewer than three bowel movements per week (this is crazy). Severe constipation is defined as less than one bowel movement per week ( a road to disease). There is no medical reason to have a bowel movement every day ( that is why medicine is very flawed). Going without a bowel movement for two or three days does not cause physical discomfort, only mental distress for some people. Contrary to popular belief, there is no evidence that "toxins" accumulate when bowel movements are infrequent or that constipation leads to cancer ( give me a break, if you do not eliminate waste where else can the toxins go?).It is important to distinguish acute (recent onset) constipation from chronic (long duration) constipation. Acute constipation requires urgent assessment because a serious medical illness may be the underlying cause (e.g., tumors of the colon). Constipation also requires an immediate assessment if it is accompanied by worrisome symptoms such as rectal bleeding, abdominal pain and cramps, nausea and vomiting, and involuntary weight loss. Please do yourself a favor if you have constipation go on a colon cleanse or see a colon hydrotherapist. http://www.CaptainColon.com

ElectroMagnetic field Spectrum. Are we getting to much radiation?
http://www.Cellphonelies.com Can electromagnetic fields (EMF) from power lines, home wiring, airport and military radar, substations, transformers, computers and appliances cause brain tumors, leukemia, birth defects, miscarriages, chronic fatigue, headaches, cataracts, heart problems, stress. nausea, chest pain, forgetfulness, cancer and other health problems? Numerous studies have produced contradictory results, yet some experts are convinced that the threat is real. Dr. David Carpenter, Dean at the School of Public Health, State University of New York believes it is likely that up to 30% of all childhood cancers come from exposure to EMFs. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) warns "There is reason for concern" and advises prudent avoidance". Martin Halper, the EPA's Director of Analysis and Support says "I have never seen a set of epidemiological studies that remotely approached the weight of evidence that we're seeing with EMFs. Clearly there is something here." Concern over EMFs exploded after Paul Brodeur wrote a series of articles in the New Yorker Magazine in June 1989. Because of Paul Brodeur's reputation. his articles had a catalytic effect on scientists, reporters and concerned people throughout the world. In November 1989, the Department of Energy reported that "It has now become generally accepted that there are, indeed, biological effects due to field exposure." The EMF issue gained more publicity in 1990 when alarming reports appeared in Time, the Wall Street Journal, Business Week and popular computer publications. ABC's Ted Koppel and CBS's Dan Rather both aired special segments on EMFs. In addition to the long-term health concerns, buying a house with high fields will be an economic disaster. In a few years, when power line radiation is as well known as asbestos and radon, a house with high fields will be practically impossible to sell. Already there are hundreds of lawsuits regarding EMFs and property devaluation. EPA Says the Threat Is Real By 1990, over one hundred studies had been conducted worldwide. Of these, at least two dozen epidemiological studies on humans indicated a link between EMFs and serious health problems. In response to public pressure, the Environmental Protection Agency IEPA) began reviewing and evaluating the available literature. In a draft report issued in March 1990, the EPA recommended that EMFs be classified as a Class B carcinogen -- -a "probable human carcinogen and joined the ranks of formaldehyde, DDT, dioxins and PCBs. After the EPA draft report was released, utility, military and computer lobbyists came down hard on the EPA. The EPA's final revision did NOT classify EMFs as a Class B carcinogen Rather, the following explanation was added:" At this time such a characterization regarding the link between cancer and exposure to EMFs is not appropriate because the basic nature of the interaction between EMFs and biological processes leading to cancer is not understood." Curiously, this rather unusual logic appears on the same page as the following: "In conclusion, several studies showing leukemia, Iymphoma and cancer of the nervous system in children exposed to supported by similar findings in adults in several/ occupational studies also involving electrical power frequency exposures, show a consistent pattern of response that suggest a causal link. " When questioned about the contradictory nature of these statements, the EPA responded that it was "not appropriate" to use the probable carcinogen label until it could demonstrate how EMFs caused cancer and exactly how much EMF is harmful. This explanation does not satisfy many critics who claim that the EPAs upper management was influenced by political and economic considerations exerted by utility, computer and military lobbyists http://www.Cellphonelies.com

?Electrosmog? ElectroPollution? Are We Getting Too Much?
http://www.Cellphonelies.com There's no getting away from it: we are bombarded with electromagnetic radiation from remote control devices, cell phones and other sources. But is the bombardment harmful? It depends who you ask. Ergonomics enters the issue when it comes to taking action. A switch that turns off the radiation can claim ergonomic credentials. So can a warning device. People worried about when to take action represent a ready market for an "electrosmog" meter released recently in Britain. London-based Sensory Perspective says its new Electrosmog Detector meters potentially harmful pollution - described as electrosmog -- from nearby wireless technologies. The hand-sized battery-powered meter has a speaker that signals if there is a large concentration of activity in the wireless spectrum between 50MHz and 3000MHz. The company regards cordless phones, cell phones, wireless computer networks, baby alarms, microwaves and other appliances as polluting. It cites studies implicating so-called electrosmog in a host of conditions, including one the British Department of Health, the Health Protection Agency and the World Health Organization call electrosensitivity or electrohypersensitivity (EHS). Adverse health effects attributed to EHS include chronic fatigue, depression, headaches, epilepsy, behavioral changes in children, disrupted sleep patterns and skin complaints. The company said its research shows that between 3 percent and 5 percent of the general population could be at risk from radiation pollution. The July 27 issue of The Ergonomics Report? , a publication for professionals requiring in-dept coverage of current ergonomics issues, focused on the potential harm of cell phones. It cited 1998 research linking cell phone use with high blood pressure, and a Swedish study published in 2002 that linked analog cell phones and brain tumors. Yet as many other studies dismiss the harm findings, as suggested by the title of the July 27 The Ergonomics Report?: "Are Cell Phones Dangerous? It's Still An Open Question." Cell phone manufacturers are loud in their denials: "Years of scientific research reaffirm there are no health risks associated with wireless phones," said Nokia spokesman Keith Nowak. From Motorola: "Scientific experts review this issue on a continual basis. Their conclusions have been consistent over many years: the radio signals from wireless telephones, two-way radios or other portable communications devices pose no known health risk." A study published this year in Psychosomatic Medicine 67:224-232 debunks a study that suggests some individuals are more susceptible to the emissions than others. Dr G. James Rubin and his research team at the Mobile Phone research Unit at King's College in Britain write: "the symptoms reported by 'electromagnetic hypersensitivity' sufferers can be proven experimentally, suggesting the presence of the condition is unrelated to weak electromagnetic fields." The continuing dispute is fertile ground for scaremongering. Issued by a manufacturer of devices purported to shield users from harmful phone radiation, the scare runs like this: "Don't accept the industry denials that mobile phones are safe. Mobile phones could be the cigarettes of the 21st century with similar legal battles ahead!" Though researchers may argue forever about the potential for harm, they don't dispute electromagnetic radiation exists. The ergonomic value of an effective meter is that it can provide anyone worried about radiation the kind of information they need to decide if they want to escape - by turning off devices in the vicinity or moving to another spot. http://www.Cellphonelies.com

Three Essential Understandings to Better Health
Understand Your Symptoms, Improve Your Health Three Keys to Understanding Your Health Turn Your Symptoms into Solutions: Three Things You Need to Know Three Essential Understandings to Better Health "?If anything can cause anything how do you know what?s causing what?" poses Dr. Richard DiCenso, leading authority in the field of Biological Fluid Analysis, author of Beyond Medicine: Exploring a New Way of Thinking, international speaker, and complementary care expert with over 30 years of medical experience. If anything can cause anything else, how do you know what you need to do to improve your health? The following three keys of understanding will help you find ways to turn your symptoms into proactive solutions. ==Understand Your Symptoms== Symptoms can come in a variety of forms, from pain to emotional feelings. Everyone's situation is unique to them, and no two people are exactly alike. Do not be too quick to jump to conclusions. Joint pain, for instance, does not necessarily mean you have arthritis. Consider what may be causing your symptoms. If you find yourself seeking medical assistance, communicate clearly. Only you know exactly what you are feeling. ==Understand Your Medications== If you have ever been to a grocery store, you will see hundreds of different supplements and medications, each claiming to make you feel great. Yet, even if you take ten different pills a day, without understanding what they do, and how they do it, you are not doing anything to improve your health. Take time to review your supplements and diet, and do not be afraid to ask a medical professional questions about how to better make your diet or supplemental medicines work for you. ==Understand Yourself== Often times, a behavior pattern, not a physical condition, is the root cause of your problems. The way you were raised, where you live, and your job all affect how you think. Reflect upon these things, examine them, and determine if any of them are the cause of your symptoms. A pattern of behavior that triggers negative symptoms continuously is known as a Vicious Cycle Disorder. Even if you have been told you are normal, or that there is nothing wrong with you, if you are feeling pain, seek to understand what is the cause by examining your own life, thoughts, and patterns of behavior. Dr. Proactive, Randy Gilbert producer and host of the Inside Success Show enjoyed learning from his interview with experienced physician and author, Dr. Richard DiCenso.
